specweb99_1.02_virtual_client_src.alt ------------------------------------- This distribution contains a set of alternate sources that have been approved by the SPEC Web Subcommittee that may be used in place of the current specweb99_1.02 sources. The changes provide support for multiple virtual clients per client machine. The client code allows the specification of multiple "real" or "logical" ipaddresses. In some instances this may allow a client system to generate more load than if a single ipaddresses is used (See: README.ip.txt). You can unpack this distribution in your existing specweb99_1.02 directory, it will create a directory: specweb99_1.02_virtual_client_src.alt. It is recommended that you save a copy of your existing specweb99_1.02 directory tree and/or save the original versions of all *.c, *.h, and configure.in files before replacing them with the src.alt files. To help with this an example UNIX script to save the original files and install the alternate sources is provided in: Install_src.alt.sh. An example un-install script is in: Uninstall_src.alt.sh NOTE: ----- If this src.alt is used to produce a SPECweb99 result for publication then the following is required: o the notes section of the full disclosure report must identify that this src.alt was used o the number of virtual clients used per client machine must be identified. Example: Other Notes: o The alternate source: specweb99_1.02_virtual_client was used to produce this result o Virtual clients per client machine used: 6
