Brian Bothwell’s dedicated efforts were instrumental in the multi-year development of the new SPECworkstation 4.0 benchmark, a significant enhancement over its predecessor. The new modular UI, designed by Brian, allows users to install and uninstall specific workloads, streamlining benchmark usage. Its architecture supports continuous integration/continuous deployment, simplifying future updates. This plug-and-play model, standardizing all GWPG benchmarks, will be used in SPECviewperf 15 and future SPECapc benchmarks, transforming workload development. Brian's substantial and impactful contributions to the codebase, including hundreds of hours of cross-team coordination and GitHub commits, ensured a high-quality benchmark. His innovative solutions and commitment to addressing urgent challenges have been instrumental in advancing SPECwpc. As a result, his code will benefit thousands of users running SPECworkstation, SPECviewperf 15, and future SPECapc benchmarks.
